I met Tony last Thursday down at City Hall as we were gearing up to march down Market Street in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street as a part of a national “Day of Action.” He had a lot of insightful things to say about the movement, politics and the economy in general.

Photo of the Day: Meet Elizabeth Bland (Occupy Philly).
Fellow Philly -newbie, blogger (Kittens With Mittens) and photographer Elizabeth Bland (pictured below) is working on a photo essay on the women of #OccupyPhilly, and approached me at City Hall last Thursday. In exchange for her taking my portrait, I took hers!
Photo of the Day: Through a Boy’s Eyes (NYC Part 2).
I shot this on the bus headed to NYC for a photo shoot with the incomparable Osiris Wildfire. We had a really fun time shooting on the streets of lower Manhattan, by the way. I’ll be posting up highlights from that shoot real soon.
So I was sitting in the seat behind this delightful little boy and marveling at how intensely he was looking out the window, silently soaking in all of the sights of the journey from Philadelphia through NJ to NYC. I captured a bunch of images, but this and two others were my absolute favorites.

Photo of the Day: Priscilla Again.
Photo of the Day: Arms Crossed.
Photo of the Day: Swingin’ (no, not that kind, either).
While in Vernon Park this past weekend, I came across these two boys. One was riding a bike, and the other rode up on his scooter-thingy. They went right over to the swings and jumped on…of course, I thought, photo time!
At first they were suspicious of me and my camera, but after a while, they loosened up and smiled for me. It was really nice because they got a little rhythm going as well, almost like they intuitively knew what I was trying to accomplish.
Ah, the innocence of childhood. How quickly that innocence is lost…
In other news, I’m also pleased to announce a new addition to the photo blog entitled Portraits of Philadelphia. Every month at the end of each month, I’ll post (or repost) some of my favorite candid/street portraits of Philadelphia’s finest. Portraits for the month of March are already up, so go check it out and tell me what you think.
Oh, and one more thing, if you haven’t checked out the PWTP Facebook Fan Page, go do so and “like it” while you’re at it. A big thank you goes to all my peeps who have checked it out and become Fans. I really, really appreciate your support.
Okay, I think that’s all. Bye for now!
Photo of the Day: What Is She Waiting For?
Photo: In My ‘Hood (On the Corner)
I can’t remember the order in which I took this and the late practice photos.
I watched the young man with the football jersey and the young man on the bike under the street lamp and remembered the days when we used to hang out under our street lamp after dark…hoping our parents wouldn’t call us inside for the night.
Sadly, things have changed.
At any rate, I retouched both to give them that nostalgic feel.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to being 15 or 16 again. Whoever said being grown was the ish was sadly mistaken.

Photo of the Day: Himself in Black and White
When I photograph Himself, I always think of the character Wilson, from the TV series “Home Improvement. Wilson was Tim’s next door neighbor. We never saw Wilson’s face. Wilson always had something philosophical to say, and he always used big words that most of us can’t pronounce or don’t know the meaning of. I call those $10 words.
I took this while he was hard at work on his computer, typing away, intently. If you look closely you’ll notice steam coming from his ear. Just kidding.
